About the team

The FinEng team is dedicated to building and scaling financial systems and processes at Airwallex, and sits within the Corporate IT organization. Through innovative technology solutions, we ensure seamless integration and support for all corporate financial systems at Airwallex and help build the tools and services our Finance team needs to run our business. A Technical Program Manager in the Corporate IT team at Airwallex, you will drive and track the execution of strategic initiatives and program development with a focus on our finance systems and platforms that allow us to grow and scale globally at pace. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that we are implementing and building the right systems, add-ons and programs within our portfolio alongside our partners in Finance.

What you’ll do

We are seeking a skilled Finance Systems Technical Program Manager to manage the implementation and optimization of our finance systems. Responsible for prioritizing and project managing all finance-related systems projects, this role will be critical in ensuring that our finance systems are robust, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. The TPM will develop a deep understanding of our complex finance processes and systems, especially with how our global business is structured for payments, taxes and procurement. This is a hands-on role at times, and you’ll need to be able to “do” as well as plan and manage a program. 

This role is based in “Singapore”.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Management: Develop and prioritize project plans, establish clear accountability for project tasks, monitor project timelines and adjust plans as necessary to meet evolving requirements
2. System Implementation and Optimization: Oversee the implementation of new finance systems, enhancements to existing systems, and system integration, ensuring they meet business requirements and improve operational efficiency– at times doing certain tasks to ensure accuracy.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Finance, IT, and other cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
4. Technical Leadership: Provide technical suggestions and expertise in finance systems architecture, integration, and data management – be a subject matter expert in these systems and processes.
5. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
6. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring they deliver quality solutions and services – holding them accountable for deliverables and uncompromising on our standards.
7. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, user experience, and process efficiency.
8. Reporting and Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, project plans, and post-implementation reviews.
9. Dealing with Ambiguity – able to make progress and move projects forward without 100% of the data or knowing every detail, but accurately able to forecast and make the correct decisions
10. Adapt and Overcome – able to make quick changes to plans, adding, dropping or changing as the business needs or changes occur. We move fast, you move faster.
11. Manage through influence – you will need to get things done with partners and people in a heavily matrixed environment and without direct authority

Who you are

We’re looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
3. Proven experience project management with a focus on finance systems implementation and optimization.
4. Strong technical knowledge of ERP system and integration technologies.
5. Strong understanding of finance and procurement processes and requirements.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot system issues.
7. Excellent proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English – with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and forge strong relationships.
8. Ability to identify and address challenges proactively
9. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
10. Culturally aware and sensitive to working across many cultures and time zones internationally, including southeast Asia, Europe, ANZ and China.
11. Flexible in time management – sometimes you’ll need to work early or later to accommodate partners in other time zones and countries, but you balance your time and week.

Preferred qualifications:

1. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CPA) is a plus.
2. Project management tool experience like Jira, Asana, etc.
3. Experience with Finance systems and tools common in technology or startups – especially with Oracle Fusion or Netsuite or SAP.
4. Experience in a tech company pre and post IPO – understanding what “needs to happen” to ensure the business operates successfully.
5. FinTech experience – companies that operate across multiple countries and jurisdictions in a complex environment a plus.
6. Finance, securities or payments experience a plus.

SGD 130K – SGD 260K • 0.5% – 1.5%

These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.
