The Role:

As the Senior Manager of Engineering for Airwallex’s Global Infrastructure team, you will lead multiple feature teams, including Engineering Productivity, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE. You will be responsible for ensuring these teams’ delivery and engineering quality.

Your technical expertise and passion for engineering are essential, but your leadership skills, product thinking, and business acumen set you apart. You will be accountable for the quality and timely delivery of various engineering streams. You will remove obstacles, provide context and guidance to your teams, and know when to escalate issues.

In this role, you will collaborate with key stakeholders worldwide and manage engineers globally to define the technological vision for our business domain. Join us to lead and inspire our teams in shaping the future of global financial technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high-performing engineering teams.

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, thoroughly tested solutions.

  • Foster a collaborative environment with innovative team members.

  • Cultivate curiosity by continually asking “why” and proposing improvements.

  • Solve problems passionately, digging deep and brainstorming with colleagues to find the best solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in modern engineering practices focused on Developer Tools, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure, Productivity, Continuous Integration, and Quality Engineering.

  • Previous experience in people management, with experience managing managers being a must

  • Strong computer science fundamentals, with proficiency in Java or Kotlin, Spring, and Spring Boot.

  • Exposure to high-volume distributed systems.

  • Hands-on experience with architecture and system design.

  • Preferred experience with GCP, but proficiency with AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront), Docker, and Kubernetes is also excellent.

  • Experience managing a global team

  • Previous experience in FinTech/Payments is advantageous

This role will ideally be based from Singapore
