Job Description:
Established in Melbourne in 2015, Airwallex is a global payments fintech company transforming the way businesses move and manage money globally. This person will be a key member of the Airwallex Finance Shared Services. As Senior Specialist you will take full ownership of account payable operations for all entities in Airwallex and ensure compliance with financial reporting, local audit and tax requirements. You will work closely with multiple business units and work closely with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve payment-related queries. Your role will be a combination of recurring finance tasks and project based initiatives to continuously improve the Controllership team within Airwallex. This position reports to our Finance Manager, based in Shanghai.
Responsibilities:

Process and validate invoices and ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and company financial policies.

Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.

Perform month-end and year-end AP reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth AP operations.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to improve efficiency.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and finance transformation projects.

Provide training and guidance to junior team members as needed.
What you bring:

3+ years of accounting experience, Big Four experience is advantageous
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred

Preferred to have good knowledge of ERP system like Oracle etc

Sufficient knowledge on account payable processes and being able to apply them in practice. Advanced excel skills would be advantageous.

Proven experience in managing complex, local or international projects focused on process improvement initiatives

Strong communicator and ability to interact with all levels within the organization

Confident, creative and innovative thought leadership and communication skills to deliver impact in a hyper growth environment

Experience working independently and navigating ambiguity
