About the team

The Finance & Corporate Development team at Airwallex drives the company’s financial strategy and growth. Our team focuses on financial planning, analysis, and corporate transactions to ensure Airwallex’s long-term success. We collaborate across departments to identify opportunities, manage risks, and execute strategic initiatives. Our goal is to support the company’s mission to empower businesses to operate anywhere, anytime.

What you’ll do

Report directly to the Vice President of Finance and be crucial in steering the company’s financial performance and guiding strategic decision making at all levels. This position demands a seasoned finance professional with profound financial modeling, analysis, and forecasting expertise. The ideal candidate will have strong business sense, a sharp analytical mind and the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that drive the organization forward. Your work will be instrumental in shaping the company’s financial strategy, ensuring sustainable growth, and maintaining a competitive edge in the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.

  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends to identify areas for improvement and inform strategic planning.

  • Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and assess market potential.

  • Evaluate the financial feasibility and strategic implications of new product launches, market expansions, and other business initiatives.

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize revenue and profitability.

  • Support business development initiatives by providing financial modeling and analysis for potential partnerships, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.

  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to execute strategic projects and initiatives.

  • Provide financial and strategic support for ad-hoc requests from senior management.

Who you are

We’re looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Minimally a Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university

  • 10 years of experience in a mix of investment banking, strategic finance or revenue strategy roles

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw meaningful insights.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modelling software.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with your stakeholders

  • A proactive and results-oriented approach with a passion for driving business growth.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment, ideally from the Technology space

  • Have worked in globally renowned Investment Banking or Private Equity firm
