What you’ll do

Airwallex is looking for a proactive and motivated Senior Tax Manager with extensive hands-on local experience and a global mindset to provide tax advice and supporting documentation, compliance, and reporting for existing businesses and new business initiatives.This position will be part of a team that works closely with business partners to understand business initiatives, prepare advice on the associated tax implications, provide actionable guidance and requirements for the business, and support reporting and compliance obligations. The role reports directly to the Global Head of Tax based in Singapore.

This role will be based in San Francisco or New York City.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex, high priority projects whilst managing competing priorities – including working across multi-region and cross-functional teams

  • Deliver holistic, commercially balanced advice to senior and executive level leadership to devise strategic, technical tax positions

  • Analyse and review statutes, regulations and case laws, and extract data make appropriate recommendations in simple terms

  • Own all regional (Americas) direct tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing issues related to current and future Airwallex entities

  • Contribute to complex global projects such as M&A transactions, due diligence, or IPO-readiness

  • An in-depth, technical knowledge of complex taxation matters, including; Direct tax, Indirect tax, International tax and Transfer Pricing

  • Demonstrable experience working across multiple timezones, supporting and/or leading on strategic cross-functional projects designed to identify growth opportunity or mitigate risk

Who you are:

We’re looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Finance, Accounting or Tax

  • Previous experience working in an accounting firm

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Team player mentality and ability to work with individuals across functions and culture

$120K – $180K • Offers Equity

Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.
