The Role:

As the Associate, Merchant Risk Operations, you will conduct a holistic risk review of Merchants in the Business Seller Segment through various workflows. (Including but not limited to case, phone, email). The holistic review will include a balanced approach of assessing risk and the merchant experience and proper documentation on new trends or riskiness. You will be working within a team environment to serve as a credible partner that makes sound decisions and provides support to team members. Working towards understanding Industry risk idiosyncrasies and providing feedback to policies makers, you will be one of key stakeholders to improve our processes and policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess Fraud, Credit, and Brand Risk: Determine risk exposure calculation methodologies on existing merchants using business credit reports, financial documents, and investigative research tools.

  • Monitor Credit, Fraud and Dispute Trends: Support ongoing monitoring processes for credit, fraud, and dispute/chargeback trends.

  • Collaborate with Merchants: Work with merchants on chargeback or dispute solutions and provide guidance for risk performance improvement plans.

  • Improve Risk Products and Policies: Provide suggestions to enhance merchant risk-related products, policies, and processes for better operational effectiveness.

  • Enhance Operational SOPs and Training: Continuously improve SOPs and training materials.

  • Queue Management: Oversee daily queue management of merchant risk monitoring cases, analyze lead quality, and review decision accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 2 years experience in fraud, credit risk, transaction or chargeback processing.

  • Analytical & Problem-solving Skills: Keen attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough risk assessments.

  • Project Management: Strong skills in improving processes, policies, and products.

  • Independent Work: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.

  • Team Collaboration: Team player, capable of learning new knowledge quickly and sharing them with others.

  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss key risk indicators and financial performance with various stakeholders.

  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Mandarin.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with SQL is a strong plus.
