About the team

The Legal, Risk & Compliance (LRC) team at Airwallex is a collaborative group of legal minds and risk management experts. We’re passionate about safeguarding Airwallex’s operations, fostering a culture of compliance and ethical conduct, and ensuring we navigate the global financial landscape with integrity. We provide expert guidance and support to all areas of the business, proactively identifying, mitigating, and managing legal and financial risks.

What you’ll do

This role will see you being a vital member of an elite, innovative global compliance team operationalising Airwallex’s compliance program. At Airwallex, we see Compliance as a service to our business teams and our customers, and we get excited about innovation and collaboration. In this role you will help us enhancing our presence in Hong Kong in the course of our global expansion by incorporating local regulatory requirements and staying in close contact to the regulator in the course of the application process for necessary licenses. 

This role is based in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

  • Application and maintenance for all local licenses

  • Development of processes that are compliant with local laws and regulations

  • KYC and due diligence

  • Basic day to day management tasks of our HK entity

  • Communicating applicable risks, costs, progress, and results to all relevant internal and external partners

  • Investigate, identify and report trends linked to AML typologies and compliance to leadership

  • Design and execute reports to measure success and performance of initiatives

  • Drive internal controls design and monitoring to support Compliance Operational policy and procedures

  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Engineering, Product, Strategy, and BD to achieve results for team and the Compliance department

  • Continually identify, redefine and execute solutions for KYC needs across systems, teams, policies and processes

  • Designs and execute reports to measure success and performance of AML Compliance initiatives, program, operations, critical metrics and KRIsRemain up-to-date on regulatory changes and landscape, best practices and cutting-edge developments

Who you are

Minimum qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in FinTech, e-commerce, RegTech, or financial services + Bachelor/Master’s Degree

  • Experience with local financial regulations and Money Service Business Licensing

  • Ability to work and drive projects independently, multitask effortlessly and handle challenging priorities under demanding deadlines

  • Strong proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Ability to understand larger picture and environment while operating in focused manner

  • Outstanding time management, presentation, and relationship building skills

  • Familiarity with AML regulations globally

  • Certification in compliance related area

  • Knowledge in core AML products, money laundering and terrorism typology, segmentation, scenarios, models, methodology, and AML tools

$170K – $280K • Offers Equity • Offers Bonus

Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.
