The Opportunity:

Join our Ledger and Recon Platform team, a critical component of Airwallex’s mission to provide seamless financial management solutions. As an Engineering Manager in this dynamic team, you will build and scale key financial products and serve as a bridge between engineering domains and the finance division.

In this role, you will lead efforts to develop and enhance our internal ledger and reconciliation systems. Your expertise will help ensure accuracy, security, and innovation in our financial processes, and your understanding of accounting principles will facilitate effective collaboration with finance stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and lead a team of skilled engineers, fostering a supportive, high-performance environment.

  • Project Management: Plan, implement, and oversee engineering projects, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery in alignment with business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between engineering teams and the finance division, ensuring clear communication and understanding of accounting requirements.

  • Technical Guidance: Provide strategic direction and support in software development practices and system architecture, with an emphasis on financial processes.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize financial product efficiency, security, and scalability using innovative, data-driven approaches.

  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that all development procedures comply with industry standards for data security and regulatory requirements.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced Leader: Proven track record of managing and leading engineering teams in a dynamic environment, with an advantage given to experience in the fintech or accounting sectors.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong background in backend software engineering, with proficiency in languages such as Java or Kotlin.

  • Accounting Insight: Demonstrated understanding of accrual-based accounting principles and bookkeeping practices, with experience in financial domains preferred.

  • Strong Communicator: Capable of effectively conveying technical and financial concepts to diverse audiences, fostering collaboration and understanding.

  • Collaborative and Inclusive: Committed to creating a team culture that embraces diverse perspectives and values continuous learning.

Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.
