About the Role: As a key member of Airwallex China Finance team, the Finance Manager will lead financial operations, drive process automation, and ensure compliance with local regulations. This role requires hands-on expertise in accounting, tax operation, and financial reporting, with a focus on operational excellence in a fast-paced fintech or internet environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and deliver accurate financial insights to support business growth.

Responsibilities:

1. Review financial statements, regulatory filings, and statutory compliance.

2. Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors for audits and tax filings.

3. Improve financial controls and reporting processes to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

4. Lead filing of China tax returns, including transfer pricing documentation.

5. Design and implement tax-efficient structures aligned with business goals.

6. Advise on tax implications of product launches, cross-border deals and other business activities.

7. Drive system automation initiatives to optimize finance operations and achieve efficiency.

8. Mentor and lead finance team to deliver high-quality outputs.

9. Take up ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or related field; China CPA/ACCA or equivalent certification.

  2. 5+ years of progressive experience in internet industries finance/accounting, preferably within payment or fintech.

  3. Deep knowledge of US GAAP, tax regulations, and tax optimization strategies.

  4. Strong communicator with fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken).

  5. Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.

  6. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint); data analysis skills (e.g., Power BI/SQL) are a plus.

  7. Big 4 auditing experience is plus

CN¥25K – CN¥40K per month

Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.
