Responsibilities

  • At Airwallex, we’re committed to building great docs and an exceptional developer experience. Create and update comprehensive documentation for our products, including product docs API documentation.

  • Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and user-friendly.

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Developer Experience teams to gather information and understand product features.

  • Regularly review and revise content to improve quality and usability.

  • Implement best practices for documentation, including the latest industry tools and technologies.

  • Foster a strong documentation culture within Airwallex by being an advocate for high-quality documentation across the company.

  • Lead efforts to overhaul and refresh existing documentation content.

  • Partner with the AI team to leverage AI-powered internal tooling that enhances both documentation writing and the developer experience.

  • Participate in exciting projects like modernizing our information architecture and scaling documentation efforts globally.

This role can be based out of San Francisco, Sydney or Melbourne

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 + years of technical writing experience, preferably within the tech, payments industry 

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience writing for APIs, SDKs, and embedded systems

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to simplify complex information

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

  • Enthusiasm for coaching and mentoring others in effective documentation practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a company with a strong documentation culture

  • Familiarity with leveraging newer technologies, such as AI, for documentation purposes

  • Obsessive focus on the needs of users and improving the end-user experience

  • Interest in fostering a better company-wide documentation culture and contributing processes

About the Team

The Developer Experience Technical Writing team at Airwallex is dedicated to creating exceptional documentation that minimizes friction, builds trust, reduces support needs, and drives inbound growth. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our documentation supports the success of our API business. You will be part of a collaborative team that values innovation, continuous improvement, and user-centric solutions.

$140K – $210K • Offers Equity • Offers Bonus

Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local law.

These expected base pay ranges are based on information at the time this post was generated and represent the company’s good faith minimum and maximum ranges for this role at the time of posting.

The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon multiple factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills and other qualifications, geographic location as noted, internal equity, and other external market factors.

Certain roles may be eligible for other compensation including, but not limited to, annual bonuses, commissions, RSUs, or other forms of compensation in addition to the established salary range.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and work location. US-based employees are eligible to participate in medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits. US-based employees also receive 20 paid days of vacation and 12 paid days of company holidays in a calendar year.
