About the team

The Solutions Engineering team partners with our clients to realise their full potential through the adoption of Airwallex products that drive their growth and success. We influence revenue growth across our entire product portfolio and collaborate with sales, strategy, product, and engineering teams to provide the best experience for our most valued customers. Our team works alongside commercial teams throughout the pre-sales, solution design, and API integration stages, serving as the single technical point of contact and trusted advisor for our clients. We are committed to empowering businesses with the tools our clients need to succeed in a dynamic market.

We are working in a hybrid work environment with 3 days per week required to be in our London Office @ LABS House, Holborn.

What you’ll do

As a Solutions Engineering Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of five, supporting both Enterprise and SME sales organisations across EMEA. You will partner with a broad set of stakeholders, from Engineering Leads and Product Managers to C-level executives, to deliver product demos, propose solutions that meet customer goals, and own the technical components of our end-to-end sales cycle, ensuring the successful technical delivery of our products. This role is critical in helping our customers realise the full benefits of our technologies.

You will manage the local team’s performance, enable the team to meet customer needs and oversee successful go-lives while ensuring we have the right processes and capabilities to support our global growth strategy. As our team continues to grow, you will play a pivotal role in shaping its future and driving impactful results

Responsibilities:

  • Manage team outcomes, deliver OKRs, and determine resource allocation to meet schedules and objectives; recommend changes to policies and establish procedures for the immediate team

  • Become an expert on Airwallex’s financial infrastructure platform and its role in driving the digital economy, helping organisations grow their business globally

  • Lead the RFP management process and collaborate closely with commercial, product, engineering, legal, and operations teams to drive consistency and accuracy in RFP responses

  • Think on your feet and enjoy it; leverage experience in customer-facing or consulting roles to craft complex solutions and oversee go-live outcomes, owning the most challenging solution projects

Who you are

We’re looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline, with strong academic achievements

  • 8+yrs experience working in a similar customer-facing engineering role such as solution consultant, solutions architect, or sales engineer, for a global software enterprise; 2+ years in team-leader capacity

  • Strong organisational/time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities while working with multiple opportunities and customers

  • Strong problem-solving mindset, comfortable working with customers, partners, and the Airwallex Engineering team to develop new products and solutions 

  • Executive engagement skills and presence, with an ability to establish strong relationships with key decision-makers and build credibility at all levels

Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the payments domain / financial services will be advantageous

  • At some point in your career, you will have been hands-on developing product solutions either internally or in a consulting role

  • Passionate about learning and actively seeks out knowledge

  • Ability to work independently and confidently to develop a path forward with customers under ambiguous circumstances

  • Strategic and creative thinker who can proactively identify challenges and maintain a positive approach when facing difficult obstacles
